Presented by the Reef Resilience Network this course will help you to understand remote sensing technologies and mapping technologies. The target audiences are reef managers, conservation practitioners, scientists, decision makers and GIS specialists. The course supports learners to evaluate the tools, select the most useful ones and use them for decision making in conservation and restoration work. Lessons in the course have been developed by experts in the field from Arizona State University's Center for Global Discovery and Conservation Science, Planet, The Nature Conservancy Caribbean Division , the University of Queensland's Remote Sensing Research Center and Vulcan Inc.

This course is accessible in 4 languages: English, Spanish, French and Bahasa Indonesia.

You'll learn about:

  • Key concepts of remote sensing and its application for marine conservation
  • Using Allen Coral Atlas, a powerful platform offering access to high resolution imagery and data about the world's coral reefs
  • Using remote sensing to map coral reefs at fine scale in some locations.
